About a week ago, the Agilent 6220 purchased 20 years ago suffered a catastrophic hardware failure. One of the turbopumps and the main motherboard failed. At this point, we have decided that this instrument will be taken out of commission. Please see Sunia about getting trained on the Bruker Impact II q-TOF which is a very fine instrument and will provide you with superior results.
On October 1, 2019, the MSPRL (Proteomics) Core and the Small Molecule Mass Spectrometry Facility were merged into a single unified core called the Harvard Center for Mass Spectrometry led by Dr. Sunia Trauger. The integrated mass spectrometry resource will continue to offer the same high quality services as before.
Please see the latest guidelines on acknowledgment or co-authorship in regards to intellectual contributions of core facility staff put forth by the Association of Biomolecular Resource Facilities (ABRF). This is excellent reference for those who may have questions in this area about accepted practices.
