Opening back up Monday, June 8th

The Harvard Center for Mass Spectrometry will be opening back up on Monday, June 8th. Please note that there are strict measures in place to limit person-to-person interactions, so we will be doing things differently. Consider shipping samples or using intercampus mail. Call, email or zoom to communicate with us! There will be no open access to instrumentation previously open to trained users. We will continue to use our existing on-line MINILIMS system to deliver reports and data to our facility users....

University Wide Measures Due to COVID-19-NEW

Following University guidance in response to the COVID-19 threat, Harvard Center for Mass Spectrometry will not permit access to non-Harvard researchers starting on Monday, March 16th. Non-Harvard researchers may not independently use our instruments, may not drop off samples in person, and may not visit for consultations. Agilent 6220 ESI-TOF No Longer Available

About a week ago, the Agilent 6220 purchased 20 years ago suffered a catastrophic hardware failure. One of the turbopumps and the main motherboard failed. At this point, we have decided that this instrument will be taken out of commission. Please see Sunia about getting trained on the Bruker Impact II q-TOF which is a very fine instrument and will provide you with superior results.

On October 1, 2019, the MSPRL (Proteomics) Core and the Small Molecule Mass Spectrometry Facility were merged into a single unified core called the Harvard Center for Mass Spectrometry led by Dr. Sunia Trauger. The integrated mass spectrometry resource will continue to offer the same high quality services as before.
