Please consult the announcements / news for important information about timelines, etc.
For security reasons, our LIMS systems are now only accessible from the Harvard network (either on campus network or VPN in the general harvard VPN ).
Please note the small molecule miniLIMS has a new URL (see below).
if you have no access to the harvard network, or have any way issues, please reach out to your usual contact. For proteomics, Mei Chen or Steven Kolakowski. For small molecules Sunia, Charles, Jennifer.
If you are on the harvard network (on campus or through VPN), proceed as before and log into the appropriate minilims (links below).
If you do not have access to minilims (i.e. you do not have access to harvard network):
We will work by email to generate the submission. see below for details.
Small Molecules/Metabolomics/Lipidomics
As of January 15th, 2026 access to the small molecule minilims has changed. A new address is used (use the link above) and access is also restricted to the Harvard network. If you have access to Harvard VPN (or are on Harvard's campus) you should be able to access the system directly. If you do not have access,
If you do not have access, you can reach out to us and we will work on the submission by email.
You will need to provide the following documents
- submission form, this has the basic information for your submission. PLEASE fill out the comment section with details of the analysis requested. this is very important. blank comment box or general comments (like "see email") can lead to inaccurate treatment for your request. We usually work on dozens of projects at the same time, and cannot always recall all the details of the interaction we had several months before, so it is your responsibility to indicate in the comment box what this submission is about. specify the analysis type (e.g. untargeted metabolomics, or targeted absolute quantification, or accurate mass confirmation), the samples (e.g. tissue that have been extracted according to xx protocol) and any general info needed.
- a sample list. this should be an excel file with at least a list of the samples that will be provided with any additional info. for example grouping, biomass, a list of targets, volumes, etc.
- if paying by 33 digit code, the payment info is in the submission form. for all other cases, we need either a PO (this is an official document, PDF format. screenshot of requisition or print out of your purchasing database will not be accepted), or a filled out credit card form.
- if necessary, a COMS form. This is required for all unextracted biological samples (tissue, fluids, etc).
Please contact your HCMS contact (Sunia, Charles, Jennifer) for help.
Proteomics
As of December 15th, 2025, we are experiencing issues with our protemics sample submission portal. To submit new samples or check the status of current samples, please email either Mei Chen or Steven Kolakowski.
