The Harvard Center for Mass Spectrometry (HCMS) was launched on October 1, 2019 to serve as a single unified resource facility. It combines the mass spectrometry based resources previously available through two separate facilities, the Small Molecule Mass Spectrometry Facility (SMMS) and the Mass Spectrometry and Proteomics Resource (MSPRL). We believe this change will  improve efficiency and provide a better overall experience to the research community through a fully integrated mass spectrometry resource. HCMS will continue to provide high quality quantitative metabolomics, proteomics and lipidomics services, as well as customized molecular measurements. Contact Sunia at  (617) 384-9585 or email for general information.

HCMS is part of Harvard University and therefore observes Harvard official holidays. The staff is not present during holidays. Official Harvard holidays can be found here.

Please note that there is no in-person drop-off of samples. You must ship your samples to us or place them in a designated location by the elevator. Contact us for more information.
